Overview
ScripGuard Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing social good by addressing the alarming crisis of prescription opioid misuse. Our vision is rooted in compassion, innovation and the unwavering belief that every life is precious. Through our pioneering initiatives, we aim to proactively intervene at the source of prescription opioid misuse, saving lives and fostering a future where individuals can manage their pain responsibly. And, for those who have succumbed to opioid misuse, provide a resource for prescription misuse and addiction support.
Our Vision
ScripGuard Foundation envisions a world where prescription opioid misuse is significantly reduced, and individuals are empowered to manage their pain responsibly. We believe in a future where every person has access to effective pain management solutions without the risk of falling victim to addiction.
Healing the Future
Opioid addiction is a complex and devastating issue. According to the National Institutes of Health, opioid use disorders affect over 16 million people worldwide, over 2.1 million in the United States, and there are over 120,000 deaths worldwide annually attributed to opioids.
We recognize and empathize with the pain and suffering brought on by opioid addiction — a struggle that extends beyond the individual to touch the lives of families, friends and communities. We understand that each story is not just about a single person battling addiction, but about mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, friends and co-workers who have lost loved ones or have witnessed the effects of opioid addiction. Collectively, we can heal and create a future free from the shackles of opioid addiction.

Avery Pinkston
Volunteer
Growing up in Houston, Texas, Avery witnessed firsthand how addiction devastates families and communities. This early exposure sparked a determination to understand the science behind substance use disorders—and to dismantle the stigma that prevents people from seeking help.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Arizona State University, where academic rigor met personal mission. Her studies gave her the scientific and psychological frameworks to address what she’d seen: that addiction isn’t a moral failing but a treatable condition requiring compassion and evidence-based intervention.
Today, Avery channels this conviction through her work with the ScripGuard Foundation and her volunteer efforts with a harm reduction and overdose prevention organization. She’s committed to meeting people where they are—without judgment, with practical support, and with the understanding that saving lives must come before solving all problems.
